Ford Mustang

A classic muscle car with a modern design, it’s no wonder that so many consumers choose the Mustang year after year.  The 2014 version of the Mustang is available in ten different models, and they are all quick. Some of them are more attainable than others, for instance the Shelby GT500 may be hard to find and has a steep starting MSRP of over $60,000. Luckily there are many more options, for a great value check out the Mustang GT Premium. This beast comes with a 5.0L V8 engine that’ll satisfy your power hunger and it won’t break the checkbook. It produces around 420 horsepower, and is estimated at doing zero to sixty miles per hour in roughly 4.5 seconds (manual transmission). A speedy hatchback with European styling, the VW GTI is a popular choice among the import car crowd.  The VW Golf GTI’s following can partially be attributed to its great looks, quick acceleration, and good gas mileage. The GTI comes with a 210 horsepower turbocharged engine that is a joy to drive, and has excellent handling. Ford Focus ST

A surprisingly quick hatchback at a great price is how most would describe the ST. The 2014 Ford Focus ST doesn’t have the same conservative engine that comes on most Focus models, instead Ford equipped it with a 2.0L high-Output EcoBoost four cylinder that pumps out some serious power. According to Ford’s website, it is estimated at producing 252 horsepower (with premium fuel) and 270 lb.-ft of torque. The ST is estimated at doing 0-60 mph in about six seconds. The ST has some great handling too, thanks to its independent front sport tuned suspsension and four wheel disc brakes. While many probably don’t think of the Ford Focus when they think “fast cars”, they would be missing out if they didn’t take a second look at the ST.

Scion FR-S

The Scion FR-S has turned heads over the last few years, and earned much attention from the tuner crowd. Arguably the best looking vehicle of the bunch, the FR-S is rates high on looks and performance. It comes with a 200 horsepower, 2.0L four cylinder engine, and a six speed transmission. It has a long list of standard features, and rates high on safety ratings. The FR-S is also one of the best values out there considering how much you get for your money.
